The deadly stabbing of a 27-year-old man on a Metro E Line train in the University Park neighborhood is still under investigation.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, officers went to the LATTC/Ortho Institute station located in the 2400 block of South Flower Street, close to Adams Boulevard.
After their arrival, Jalil Sosa Illera was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, but he passed away there subsequently, according to the police.
“A person with stab wounds alighted from an E Line train at the LATTC/Ortho Institute Metro station yesterday afternoon,” Metro stated in a statement made public on Wednesday.
Unfortunately, the man did not survive his injuries even though police and emergency medical staff arrived at the station almost away and started life-saving procedures. In addition to offering its sympathies to the victim’s family and friends, Metro is assisting the Los Angeles Police Department with its investigation, according to the statement.
The suspect was described as a 160-pound male who wore spectacles and stood around 5-foot-8 inches tall. When last seen, he was sporting light blue pants, black shoes, and a black sweatshirt with white lettering on the front.
The attack’s motivation was unknown.
