Following a frigid and calm start to the new year, Storm Team 12 predicts a pair of storm systems that will bring Kansas its first snowfall in 2024.
The next storm system, according to Storm Team 12 Meteorologist Peyton Sanders, will arrive Thursday night and Friday early, bringing snow to most of Kansas. He said most areas will get light snow, but it’s too early to forecast totals as of Monday afternoon.
A second system could hit the state on Monday, January 8. This storm, according to Sanders, might bring a mix of rain and snow, as well as severe gusts.
“The exact track of the storm is still expected to change over the next several days, so be sure to check back for later forecasts,” Sanders said in a statement.
