Albany, Ga. (WALB) – The new year is coming up soon, and people all over South Georgia are having fun.
Here is a list of things you can do to welcome 2024.
Dougherty County
- On Sunday, December 31, at 7 p.m., Pretoria Fields Brewing in Albany will have a party to ring in the new year. From 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., Six Guns Down will play live music, and San Joe’s To-Go Mexican Cuisine will serve food. There will also be a live countdown to midnight and music from Planet X DJs to ring in the new year. The brewery will stay open at least until Monday, January 1 at 1 a.m.
- On Sunday, December 31, at 6:30 p.m., the VFW Post 2785 in Albany will be having a party to ring in the new year. People who are going to the dinner are asked to bring a side dish. It costs $15 to get in. It will start at 8:30 p.m. with Danny the DJ and the Still River Band.
- On Sunday, Dec. 31, the Manor House Pub at the Merry Acres Hotel in Albany will have karaoke and a champagne toast. To get to Harvest Moon, The Catch, and La Luna, you can take a shuttle.
- KC After Dark will be at King Claw in Albany on Sunday, Dec. 31 from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Everyone over the age of 21 is welcome, and there will be a live DJ. Everyone who wants to join must have a valid ID.
Lee County
- On Sunday, December 31, at 4 p.m., the Lee Pub in Leesburg will be having a party for New Year’s Eve. At 9 p.m., the Mac Georgia Band will start playing live. To get in, you have to be at least 21 years old and pay $5. You need to book your table by 8 p.m., and each table costs $25. To find out more about the event, click here.

- On Sunday, December 31, at 8 p.m., Wild Adventures Theme Park in Valdosta will have Family First Night & Fireworks. You can eat as much as you want at the New Year’s Eve buffet. There will also be free noisemakers and party supplies, a free 5×7 family picture, and VIP seating for the event. If you buy a parking ticket or a season pass, you can watch the fireworks for free.
- On Sunday, December 31, 2024, Billards on Baytree in Valdosta will have a party to ring in the new year. Monday, January 1, 2024, from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., there will be singing. - Big Dummy’s in Lake Park is having a party for New Year’s Eve with Troupe Station from 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 31, until 1 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 1.
Sumter County
- On Sunday, December 31, at 6 p.m., the Windsor Hotel in Americus will be having a New Year’s Eve Bash.
- The Place: Latin Fusion Restaurant & Bar in Americus is having a masquerade party on Sunday, December 31, from 5 p.m. until the event ends.
- On Sunday, December 31, at 9 p.m., the Alley at the Windsor Hotel will be the scene of a New Year’s Eve party. There will be music at the show by TNT Entertainment.
Tift County
On December 31, at 7 p.m., the New Year’s Eve Gnat Drop will happen at the Tifton Fair Grounds. It will last until midnight. There will be food, drinks, and live music at the event.
