A Georgia middle school teacher resigned after throwing an 11-year-old pupil across the room and allegedly making inappropriate remarks about the child’s mother.

According to WTOC, a kid at DeRenne Middle School named TJ jumped up from his desk and addressed his teacher, BeTreylin Elder, at the front of his classroom, to stop him from talking about his mother.

“I was told that he had a share of words that were inappropriate to TJ and that he had made some remarks about me and my son was unhappy with it,” according to Che’Nelle Russell.

TJ and Elder, who also coaches football at the school, exchanged a few words before Elder grabbed the 11-year-old’s chest, according to video evidence of the incident.

Elder picked up the student from the floor and casually hurled him against a desk near other pupils. TJ allegedly urged Elder to “stop talking about my mom” and intended to call him about the teacher’s comments.

“From that point, he was then grabbed and thrown to the floor like nothing,” Russell told me. As TJ tried to rise up, Elder stood immediately over him.

Russell, who does not know Elder, claims the school system failed her because the violent throw caused her to lose trust in the institution. According to Russell, the preteen informed his mother that Elder’s remarks were “sexual in nature,” with one stating “that he left his shoes at TJ’s mom’s house.”

Elder was removed from the classroom and relocated to a position away from the students.

According to the publication, TJ was taken to the medical room after school on Friday with a concussion and many injuries.

Elder gave his resignation to the school system over the weekend. Russell was dissatisfied with Elder’s hasty resignation and desired more disciplinary action.

“He ought to be put in jail. He harmed my boy. I am heartbroken because I would never do that to my child. That is not something his father would do to him. “So for him to take the initiative to do that is sickening,” Russell stated.

The Savannah Morning News reports that no lawsuits or criminal charges have been filed against Elder.

In October, a 27-year-old Brooklyn teacher placed a 15-year-old student in a headlock, hurting him to the point of hospitalization. The horrific occurrence at the High School for Sports Management occurred on Tuesday, October 29, and sent the injured kid to Maimonides Midwood Community Hospital in Brooklyn.

According to The Post, the teacher, Gary Zeng, allegedly beat the student after he entered his classroom without permission. Zeng was arrested and charged with second-degree strangling, criminal obstruction of breathing, endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree assault, police said.

The student sustained neck damage.
