An individual from Southern California was given a prison sentence for sexual assault crimes that involved many victims who were under the age of twelve.
According to the Pomona Police Department, the individual who was involved was identified as Edmundo Garcia, who is 34 years old and hails from Ontario.
A missing youngster was reported to the police on April 23, 2024, and they responded to the scene. After further investigation, the detectives found out that Garcia had physically taken the minor against her will.
After some time had passed, the stolen child was found and freed from behind the suspect’s back. Garcia had been “grooming children in the area and sexually assaulting them using force and fear,” according to the information that investigators became aware of.
Garcia did not disclose any information regarding how he initially made contact with the victims or the number of victims who may have been involved.
At the time of his arrest, Garcia was accused of:
- If a kid is over 14 years old, oral copulation
- Unlawful sexual contact with a minor who is younger than 16 years old (two charges)
- The use of a lethal weapon in an assault
- It is two counts of assault using force that is likely to result in significant bodily injury.
- Abuse of a child younger than 14 years old
- When a person under the age of 16 is sexually penetrated
- Sexual conduct committed against a kid between the ages of 14 and 15 (two counts)
- An assault that resulted in serious physical injury
- Sexual penetration of a minor victim over the age of 14 by the use of force
- Convincing a witness not to disclose a crime that has occurred
- Threats from criminals
The defendant, Garcia, entered a plea of not guilty to three counts on December 9 and was subsequently sentenced to 22 years in state prison.
According to the authorities, after he is officially released from prison, he will be obliged to register as a sexual offender for the rest of his life.
