Illinois Man Faces Drug Charges After Discovery of Meth and Cocaine in Vehicle

A man from Illinois was arrested in Nacogdoches on Tuesday after a search turned up “large quantities of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine” in his automobile.

According to the announcement, at around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a patrolling deputy observed a passenger automobile exceeding the speed limit with one of its headlights turned off.

According to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy stopped the car and obtained approval to search. According to the announcement, during the search, the deputy discovered six “vacuum-sealed bags containing a white substance hidden inside the door frame.”

The vehicle’s driver, Juan Antonio Diaz, 27, of Illinois, was arrested, and the vehicle was thoroughly searched, according to officials. According to the NCSO, the search turned up ten bags of suspected meth and three bags of cocaine.

In total, officials discovered 23.4 pounds of meth, 7.4 pounds of cocaine, and THC candy.

Diaz was placed into Nacogdoches County Jail and charged with two counts of possessing a controlled drug, with a $600,000 bond.
