SACRAMENTO, Calif. – After six consecutive days of temperatures in the triple digits, a significant portion of Northern California could begin to get some sort of reprieve from the heat wave, particularly after Monday.

Tamara Berg, a meteorologist, stated that the highest temperature that is expected to be recorded in downtown Sacramento on Monday is 99 degrees, which is a decrease from the 101 degrees that were recorded on Sunday. The temperature is 91 degrees on average during this time of year.

Berg said that a Delta breeze will begin to chill the region, even though temperatures in certain regions, like Modesto or Yuba City, could reach 100 degrees.

By Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures are forecast to decrease to the upper 80s by the early afternoon.
