MANHATTAN, N.Y. (Sky21) – A 72-year-old woman died after being struck by a man being pursued by an armed suspect during a brawl near a Harlem apartment complex last month, authorities said Friday.

According to the NYPD, the woman fell and banged her head on the concrete after the man collided with her in front of 720 Lenox Ave. in Harlem at 5 p.m. on August 3. The bystander, Martha Rodriguez, was taken to the hospital with head injuries and died three days later, authorities said.

According to authorities, the man was fleeing from another man who drew a sharp item and began chasing him after an argument outside the apartment complex. Rodgriguez was accidentally pushed to the ground during the chase.
