NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – A body was discovered in the closet of a nursing home in Florida, and the family believes that it belongs to a 71-year-old man who had been reported missing from the institution about two weeks ago.

A closet at the North Dade Nursing & Rehabilitation Center was the location where the body of Elin Etienne, who had been missing for eleven days, was discovered on Monday. The family of Elin Etienne believes that the body was his rotting body.

According to the family, he had been a patient at the facility during August after suffering a brain aneurysm earlier in the month. An alert for a missing person was issued by the North Miami Police Department on August 23, one day after he was reported missing.

According to his granddaughter, Ruth Keisha Etienne, who spoke with WTVJ-TV, the management of the nursing home never informed them that a body had been discovered. They were informed by an unknown caller, and as a result, they got in touch with the administrators.

“They said they found him in a closet and he was already decomposing, and they chose not to let us see the body,” Etienne stated to the station. “They refused to let us see the body.” “We attempted to communicate with the staff at the nursing home, but they refused to engage in conversation with us. They are unwilling to engage in conversation with us. Exactly why is that?

Wednesday, the care home declined to comment on the matter. On Wednesday, the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s Office announced that the identity of the deceased individual had not yet been determined. A death investigation is currently being carried out, according to the police.

A request for comment was made to state regulators of nursing homes on Wednesday, but they did not immediately answer the phone.
