A Maryland lady allegedly admitted to fatally slashing her sister with a utility knife during a driveway altercation after a wedding, and she cried when police informed her she had died. Brianna Kathleen Jarrells, 29, faces first-degree murder charges in the death of her sister, Alyssa Jarrells, 31, according to a news release.
The tragic confrontation occurred at 1:35 a.m. on Sunday in the 5600 block of Wilkens Avenue in Catonsville, just outside Baltimore. According to court filings, the incident occurred at Alyssa Jarrells’ boyfriend’s home, where the sisters had gone following the wedding.
The witness informed police that they “got into a minor argument, which continued to escalate as the evening continued,” according to local Fox and MyNetworkTV affiliate WBFF. What the argument was over was unclear. According to court filings, when an officer asked the victim where the suspect was while she lay bleeding in the driveway, she replied, “Right there,” pointing to her sister.
Brianna Jarrells later allegedly informed police that she used a utility knife. I never tried; I pinned it to her as a warning,” before allegedly responding, “I need to shut the f— up.”
Brianna Jarrells allegedly cried out, “Oh f—, I thought I just nipped her,” after an officer informed her that her sister had died in a hospital.
A GoFundMe page was set up to cover the victim’s funeral expenses.
“After learning of Alyssa Jarrell’s death, we formed this GoFundMe page to help the family with funeral costs, navigating many life changes, and providing support for her three young beautiful children while they mourned their mother’s passing. The family would certainly appreciate any aid you may provide. Go fund does charge a transaction fee, therefore gifts and gift cards can be provided directly to the family.”
Brianna is currently being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center, according to online court documents. She’s scheduled to appear in court on September 20. Her public defender declined to comment, according to the Baltimore Banner.
