The Sacramento Police Department reported Friday the arrest of five people, including a juvenile, on suspicion of shooting and killing an 18-year-old man in June at an Upper Land Park affordable housing project.
According to the Police Department, officers were dispatched just before noon on June 23 to the 2700 block of Fifth Street at the Marina Vista housing complex adjoining Seavey Circle. Daani Partridge, a guy later identified as such, was killed by gunfire while standing between two apartment buildings.
On Wednesday, investigators led an operation that resulted in the arrest of the homicide suspects as well as two others on non-homicide charges. A 17-year-old boy, Calvin Warr, 18, Tashion Brown, 18, Romell Brooks, 19, and Khamari Stroman, 19, were detained on suspicion of homicide. Police say all five are Sacramento residents.
The motivation for the shooting was not immediately obvious. Officer Anthony Gamble, a Police Department spokesperson, said the incident is still being investigated.
The four adults face homicide charges and are being jailed without bond at the Sacramento County Main Jail.
During the inquiry, police detained a 48-year-old Sacramento man on suspicion of crimes and felon in possession of a firearm, according to online booking records.
Police reported that another Sacramento guy was arrested on suspicion of violating his parole.
According to the online jail record, the four males detained on suspicion of homicide are set to be arraigned in Sacramento Superior Court on Friday afternoon.
