10-FOOT PYTHON FOUND IN CAR During Raid on San Francisco Bay Area Illegal Sideshow

SAN FRANCISCO – A 10-foot-long python was found in a car during a raid on an illegal sideshow in the San Francisco Bay Area that drew hundreds of spectators, according to investigators.

According to the Vallejo Police Department, officials received multiple calls around 11:12 p.m. Friday of a sideshow involving around 500 vehicles in the Bay Region city.

According to a police statement, drivers were stopping traffic, shining lasers in other drivers’ eyes, and spinning their vehicles.

According to authorities, the occupants of a Cadillac shone a laser into officers’ eyes, forcing them to begin a traffic stop. However, the driver led police on a 10-mile (16-kilometer) chase to the city of Hercules, where he and three other passengers escaped.

Police discovered a 10-foot (3-meter) python inside the vehicle. The driver was detained on several offenses, including felony fleeing. The passengers received minor citations.

Vallejo is approximately 30 miles (5.0 kilometers) northeast of San Francisco.
