Three people were taken to the hospital after a gunshot that occurred at an apartment complex in Tampa on Sunday night caused a Publix grocery store in the area to be evacuated.

A car with five individuals inside came across the suspect, who then began firing at them, according to Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhuis. The incident took place at approximately 7:40 p.m. at the Mariner Clay Apartments in Spring Hills. These apartments are located in the city of Spring Hills. The circumstances that led up to the shooting are still unknown, according to Nienhuis.

It has been confirmed by Nienhuis that Publix was evacuated as a precautionary measure during the incident.
