CYPRESS, Texas – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has identified the three persons whose deaths were discovered inside a burning Cypress home on Sunday as a woman, her adult son, and his live-in girlfriend.

Kelly Masciarelli, Kolin Foster, and Cameryn Richard were killed inside a residence in the 14600 block of Plains River Drive, according to HCSO.

Investigators believe Masciarelli and Foster were mother and son, and all three lived at the house. Their ages were not revealed.

The sheriff’s office also revealed that arson investigators believe the fire was intentional, starting by an accelerant, and the victims died before the flames broke out.

Investigators are looking for a suspect, but haven’t revealed who it could be. It was also unclear if anyone else lived in the house.

HCSO is already investigating the situation as a homicide.

“Unfortunately, we have seen this before where an individual will commit murder and then start a fire to cover their tracks,” HCSO Sgt. Michael Ritchie said on Sunday.

Investigators informed Eyewitness News of potential clues, including a red Chevrolet Corvette parked in front of the house. They claimed Foster bought the vehicle, which authorities towed as evidence.

A neighbor also reported hearing a car door slam in the early hours but did not know the driver.

McKenzie Abbott told ABC13 that she has known Richard since middle school and that they are “like sisters.”

“She was a great person,” Abbott remarked from her Virginia school via Zoom. “She had a really big heart.”

Another of Richard’s buddies also spoke to ABC13. She stated she met Richard in beauty school and became close friends despite their 15-year age difference.

She stated that she had just chatted to her by text.

“I was like, ‘Hey, it is a long shot, but would you be interested in getting your hair cut as a model for me when I start taking models?'” “And she was like, ‘Absolutely, like duh,’ which I was so excited about,” the buddy recalled. “That was two days ago.”

She admitted that when Richard sat in her salon chair, she occasionally discussed her personal affairs.

She occasionally brought up her friendship with Foster.

“She did tell me the last time we spoke that she was going to get a matching tattoo with him,” she recalled.

ABC13 also spoke with a family member of Masciarelli and Foster. The relative described both as “really good people.”

Ritchie stated that they were checking video footage as part of their inquiry.

HCSO is urging anybody with information regarding the case to call the Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100 or Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.
