FRESNO, Calif – On Monday, the Fresno Police Department was able to determine the identity of the individual who was deceased after being shot while walking in Fresno on Thursday.
According to the officers, the victim was walking away from the intersection of Lane Avenue and Recreation Avenue on Thursday at approximately four o’clock in the afternoon when some individuals approached him and began assaulting him.
There were multiple shots fired at the victim by one of the accused. For the time being, investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the assault and the shooting that resulted in death.
The victim was named as Arnold Ortega, who was 37 years old, by the police department on Monday. An ongoing search for witnesses and surveillance footage is being conducted by the detectives across the area.
