San Diego Man Succumbs to Gunshot Wounds After Being Found on I-805 Off-ramp

SAN DIEGO – The California Highway Patrol announced on Monday that a guy who was discovered with a gunshot wound to his head on an off-ramp of a freeway in San Diego the previous week has passed away as a result of his injuries.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. on August 8, a pedestrian who was thirty years old was discovered with a gunshot wound to his head on northbound Interstate 805, on the University Avenue off-ramp, in the North Park neighborhood. This information was provided by the California Highway Patrol.

The victim, who was a resident of San Diego, was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital for medical care after being carried there by the California Highway Patrol. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) issued a press release on Monday confirming that the victim passed away at the hospital as a result of his injuries.

According to the California Highway Patrol, “At this time, there is no suspect information available.” The circumstances that led up to the deadly gunshot are currently being investigated.
