A person from San Francisco was taken into custody on Sunday in Pittsburg on suspicion of kidnapping, as reported by the police.

At approximately two o’clock in the afternoon, the Brentwood Police Department received a call reporting that a male and a woman were engaged in a violent dispute inside a vehicle. The person who called the police was able to provide them with a portion of the license plate, which allowed the officers to identify the vehicle.

When the vehicle was spotted in Pittsburg, a BOLO alert, which stands for “Be On The Lookout,” was issued in Contra Costa County and throughout the wider Bay Area.

At the age of 21, James Llarena was taken into custody on suspicion of kidnapping as well as other felonies.

The woman who had been injured was transported to the hospital. Llarena and the woman are thought to have known each other, according to the investigators.
