Man Attacks Parents in Ohio Home: MOTHER KILLED, FATHER INJURED in Stabbing Incident

A man attacked both of his parents in their Ohio home after his mother told him he couldn’t stay the night and urged his father to call for psychiatric treatment.

Kenneth Mortimer, 40, reportedly pulled his fleeing mother, Barbara Mortimer, 75, back inside to kill her.

According to online records, he is currently in the Hamilton County Jail on charges of murder, attempted murder, and felonious assault.

His father, a 75-year-old male, survived but was taken to UC Hospital with significant injuries, according to authorities. According to the Green Township Police Department, officers and paramedics were summoned to the 3300 block of Palmhill Lane in the Cincinnati-area city of Green Township shortly before 4 p.m. on Friday to investigate a stabbing report.

“Upon arrival, officers located two victims suffering from stab wounds,” investigators reported. “The suspect fled the scene before the officer’s arrival.”

Officers determined that the defendant, Mortimer, stabbed his parents after an argument.

According to documents obtained by Fox Cincinnati station WXIX, the altercation erupted after Barbara Mortimer informed her adult son that he would be unable to spend the night at the family home. According to police, she advised Mortimer’s father to seek psychiatric treatment. This allegedly escalated when defendant Mortimer grabbed a kitchen knife and attacked his parents, stabbing them while they were sitting on the couch.

Barbara Mortimer managed to flee via the front door, but defendant Mortimer dragged her back inside and stabbed her many times, according to police reports.

The defendant allegedly fled the scene, but officers located him in Cincinnati. Police said he admitted to stabbing his parents.

Kenneth Mortimer is slated for a court hearing on August 20.
