Fatal Hit-and-run in Columbus: MOTORCYCLIST DIES, SUV DRIVER ARRESTED for Possible Impairment

COLUMBUS, Ohio –A hit-and-run accident happened on Monday in Clintonville resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

A collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV was reported to have occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m., as stated by the Columbus Division of Police. Officers were dispatched to the vicinity of North High Street and East Kelso Road to investigate the incident.

According to Sergeant Joe Albert, the biker was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition, and at 8:30 p.m., he was pronounced deceased at the hospital. On Brighton Road, law enforcement officers located the SUV that was involved in the collision and detained the driver.

The motorist was arrested for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to Albert, who stated that early indications were that the driver was under the influence of either substance.
