Police in Michigan arrested a man who allegedly tortured and held his pregnant wife against her will because she refused to give him her passcodes. Ali Aboukhodr, 41, is charged with domestic violence, torture, and wrongful confinement, according to Wayne County prosecutors at his arraignment on Thursday, which was broadcast live by Detroit NBC station WDIV.
“Judge, I gotta say this: In the hundreds, if not thousands of cases before this court, these set of allegations are some of the worst,” arraignment prosecutor Steve Vincent said, later adding, “The defendant unleashes the proverbial hell against this gal.”
Vincent claimed that Aboukhodr “literally tortured” the victim, who is 22 years old, for 18 hours commencing July 14. He allegedly beat her with a belt, dragged her upstairs till her head hit each one, punched her, and flung her to the ground. The assault allegedly resulted in vaginal hemorrhage.

“Once he saw this, the defendant ended up telling the complaining witness that she didn’t even deserve his child,” Vincent told me.
She was eventually able to contact her mother, who alerted the police.
Then, on July 21, Aboukhodr allegedly beat her again as she attempted to leave the house.
“This defendant didn’t appreciate that she wanted to end this relationship so while she’s attempting to leave he strangles her,” Vincent recalled.
According to Vincent, the victim fled and sought help at a neighbor’s house.
He said pictures show the victim with multiple bruises and lacerations.
Defense attorney Hassan Hamade stated that his client has no past criminal record.

“These are just allegations at this point so as gruesome as the case may look or may sound, that’s just the narrative,” he clarified.
Hamade also observed that Aboukhodr has yet to be interrogated by a police investigator, and the alleged victim has subsequently stated that she did not wish to press charges. Vincent stated that the victim fears for her life.
The judge put the bond at $350,000. Aboukhodr is still in the Wayne County Jail, according to sheriff’s office records.
