ARLINGTON, Texas – Three people were injured, including an Arlington police officer, following a reported shooting and home fire Monday evening.
According to an Arlington Police Department press release, police responded to a shooting complaint around 5:45 p.m. in the 800 block of Connally Terrace. On the route, the officers were informed that the home in question was also on fire. When police came, they discovered a woman at a neighbor’s house who had been grazed by a bullet. According to Arlington police, her spouse, who they believe shot her, set fire to their home and was unable to escape.
“Firefighting was delayed due to male still being inside with a gun,” according to authorities.
Once inside, an officer drew him to safety, and both sustained minor burns. The woman and officer were rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
