Five teenagers have been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred at a Logan Heights trolley station on Friday, authorities said.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident took place shortly after 4 p.m. The victim, who authorities only identified as a Hispanic adolescent, spoke with a group of teens on the 32nd and Commercial trolley platform.
It was then claimed that the victim descended the stairs to Imperial Avenue. Police stated the group followed the victim before confronting and stabbing them with an unknown weapon.
The actual circumstances surrounding the stabbing are still under investigation.

Officers from Central Division arrived on the scene and discovered the victim along the sidewalk with at least one stab wound. According to authorities, the victim was taken to a local hospital and later confirmed dead.
The victim’s identity will be verified by the San Diego County Medical Examiner.

A short time later, at 5:45 p.m., police stated five individuals were apprehended in the 4700 block of Spring Street in La Mesa. They were arrested and taken to Juvenile Hall on suspicion of murder. Their ages range from 15 to 17.
