MAN SHOT AND KILLED at Tampa’s Copeland Park; Police Search for Suspect

TAMPA, Florida – A man was shot and murdered at Tampa’s Copeland Park on Friday evening, and detectives are now looking for the suspect. The Tampa Police Department said police were summoned to the park, situated at 11001 North 15th Street, at approximately 7:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.

Officers came and discovered a Black male, thought to be in his early twenties, with a gunshot wound. According to authorities, he was transferred to a local hospital and died as a result of his injuries. TPD suspected the victim and suspect had a verbal dispute that escalated before the fatal gunfire.

Officers described the suspect as a slim, balding Black male who fled on a bicycle following the incident.
