An 18-year-old sent a terrifying text message to a friend only a few hours before she was discovered dead by authorities.
On Thursday morning, August 1, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from Annabelle Margaret Floren-Wyant’s friend.
Annabelle had informed a close male friend, whose name has not been disclosed, of her plans to meet with 26-year-old Jorge Meza Alarcon Jr. at his house in El Paso, Texas. The duo met through Snapchat, and Annabelle went to Jorge’s house to ‘collect money’ from Jorge, who was one of her Snapchat Premium subscribers.

The companion had dropped Annabelle off shortly before 1 a.m., but he became increasingly concerned about the 18-year-old after getting a disturbing text from her, which prompted Annabelle to go silent for 90 minutes.
When Annabelle entered Jorge’s home, she texted her friend, describing his behavior as ‘strange’, and begged her friend to text or call her regularly to ensure her safety.
When the anonymous friend didn’t hear from Annabelle for a while, he contacted 911, and deputies arrived to find her dead.
The youngster was discovered in Jorge’s bedroom, with her underpants pulled down to her ankles and blood near her ear, but no other visible symptoms of damage, according to Mail Online.
Police eventually located Jorge around three miles from his home. He was found with facial injuries and informed investigators that he had met Annabelle to have sex.
He went on to say that while they were intimate, Annabelle asked for the money, and as he turned to retrieve it, the 18-year-old slapped him in the back of the head with her iPhone.
Jorge first stated that he had blacked out following this and that the next thing he knew was that we were strolling near where the police had found him.
However, in a subsequent interview, the 26-year-old stated that Annabelle had previously threatened him and that he was concerned about the encounter because a vehicle was still idling outside.
Jorge stated he had put Annabelle in a chokehold, fearing that their meeting was part of a plot to attack him. He has now been charged with first-degree murder.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has been approached for comment.
According to court documents acquired by unilad, Jorge is also charged with animal cruelty and criminal mischief for allegedly strangling a dog to death in February 2024.
