SAN ANTONIO – Last week, a man was fatally shot outside of a party that was held at an unregistered short-term rental residence on the North Side of San Antonio. Crime Stoppers and the San Antonio Police Department are looking for information on the incident.
On July 31, just before three o’clock in the morning, Jordan Benjamin Burleson, who was 24 years old, was shot and killed in the 4600 block of Hawthorn Woods, which is located not too far from Loop 1604 and Lockhill Selma Road.
It was reported by the police that there were at least twenty persons present at the party that was held in a residence that was rented out on a short-term basis. A driveway on the other side of the street was where Burleson was shot and killed.

According to a woman who was present at the party, Burleson was serving in the Navy at the time of his death. She stated that he had just left the house to go buy some food.
According to a report filed by Crime Stoppers, Burleson was shot with a rifle by an individual who was sitting in the passenger seat of a silver Dodge Charger. There has been no identification of the shooter, and the vehicle that was on the run has vanished.
Chief William McManus of the South African Police Department assured the people that their neighborhood was safe one week after the shooting. He believes that the crisis is connected to gangs.
“That place was rented to people with gang affiliations, and the person who was shot that night, they went after him; it wasn’t just an accidental shooting,” McManus said. “The shooting was not an accident.”
According to KSAT, A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered by Crime Stoppers to anyone who has information that could lead to the arrest of a criminal.
