Colorado authorities have taken into custody a guy who they claim murdered a lady he met on Snapchat by strangling her with a chokehold. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about 2:30 a.m. on August 1 from a man requesting a welfare check on an unresponsive woman at a property in the 13000 block of Hallelujah Trail.

Medical personnel arrived and confirmed the woman’s death. After conducting multiple interviews, deputies arrested Jorge Meza-Alarcon Jr., 26, for first-degree murder.

According to an arrest affidavit acquired by the Colorado Springs Gazette and local CBS affiliate KKTV, deputies discovered the victim, 18-year-old Annabelle Floren-Wyant, inside the home with blood near her ear and on her pants and underwear at the ankles.

One of her acquaintances reportedly informed cops that he dropped Floren-Wyant off at the home at about 1 a.m. to “collect money” from Meza-Alarcon. According to the affidavit, Floren-Wyant got weird vibes from Meza-Alarcon and asked the friend to stay in touch via text. After 90 minutes of not hearing from her, the buddy called the police.

Cops discovered Meza-Alarcon around three kilometers from his home, with visible facial injuries. In an interview, he reportedly informed detectives that he met Floren-Wyant on Snapchat and intended to pay her for sex.

According to the complaint, he initially stated he was going to fetch the money to pay her before she allegedly smacked him with something, probably a phone, knocking him out. He awoke about three miles away and dialed 911 to report the assault.

However, later in the interview, he allegedly revised his account. He reportedly said Floren-Wyant had threatened him earlier and was concerned about an idle automobile outside the house and her continual texting to someone.

Scared of being attacked, he said he “instantly went to a leglock but transitioned to a ‘D’arce’ chokehold which he demonstrated on the floor of the interview room,” according to the affidavit. Meza-Alarcon then dismounted and headed outside.

“Jorge was asked if he knew Annabelle was dead when he left the room and he stated ‘without checking her pulse…’ and said he ‘knows how to do locks,’ because he ‘likes to train,’ and he knows when the chokehold is used ‘you only have 2-3 taps in you,'” according to the affidavit for his arrest.

Deputies apprehended Meza-Alarcon and transported him to the El Paso County Jail, where he is being held on a $1 million bond. He has a court hearing scheduled for Thursday. According to local NBC affiliate KOAA, he was jailed in February after choking a dog to death and throwing its remains in a dumpster.
