A cold-hearted Florida father is accused of dumping his 10-year-old daughter on the side of a busy road in the middle of the night, according to officials.
Hector Serrano, 30, is facing child negligence charges after leaving the terrified youngster on the side of US Route 192 in Kissimmee at 12:30 a.m. on Monday, according to WESH-TV News.
Serrano allegedly got into a fight with the girl’s grandparents before removing her from the car. “Something bad could’ve happened to the little girl,” said Osceola County Sheriff Marco Lopez. “Anyone could have taken her. She could have been a victim of human trafficking.
“Mind you, this area is about 21 minutes from Grandma’s house,” Lopez informed us. “Wolves exist, and predators exist. You know, throwing a young 10-year-old child out in that environment, regardless of what time of day it is, is reckless, irresponsible conduct.”
One witness told authorities that Serrano threw the child’s toys and clothes at her on the side of the road before speeding away and leaving her in the dark.
“Even the witnesses say she was scared, distraught, crying, confused,” Lopez informed me. “I would’ve been too if someone would’ve thrown me out at that age.”
Deputies found Serrano shortly after the event and arrested him.
He is being charged with child neglect as the Department of Children and Families investigates.
