VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – Two counts of level 3 felony rape have been filed against a lady from Terre Haute, Indiana after she allegedly confessed to the incident when police arrived at her residence.

Sylvia Evinger, 23, of Terre Haute, is facing one misdemeanor charge of domestic assault and two charges of rape, according to court documents.

On July 16, the Indiana State Police were summoned to a residence in the 8700 block of Wabash Avenue in response to a domestic disturbance report, according to a probable cause affidavit submitted in the case.

According to the trooper who arrived on the scene, Evinger reportedly came up to him, sobbing, and started pleading with him to arrest her. Not only did the woman confess to consuming a large amount of alcohol that day, but she allegedly also admitted to hitting her wife after an altercation.

Evinger continued by telling the police that the rape had occurred a few months before. The rape, according to the woman, took place on March 11th of this year.

“According to Sylvia, they never intended for the incident to occur, and she was aware that the victim was unhappy with it the whole time it was happening,” the PCA states.

Following this, Evinger was led to the Vigo County Jail while handcuffed.

According to fox59 On Monday, Evinger had his first hearing in Vigo County Superior Court 6. A second hearing is set for August 5, according to court documents. As of Monday, Evinger’s bond was $10,000 with 10% allowed, according to jail records.
