Many Floridians enjoy buffets, and Golden Corral appears to be a favorite since most articles I write about it generate a lot of feedback.
However, as of 2023, Florida will be missing a few Golden Corral restaurants. According to Growth Spotter, the University of Central Florida has declared that a property on Colonial will be demolished for student housing in November 2023.
According to the Jax Daily Record, a Golden Corral in south Jacksonville will become a Chow’s Buffet in early December 2023 following a $1 million remodeling.
Chow’s is planning to open a new site in Florida, with the possibility of more.
About Chow’s Buffet:
Chow’s provides an original combination of southern and Asian cuisine. According to The Florida Times Union, owner Evan Chen describes the restaurant’s menu as “where soul food collides with Asian tastes.”
Southern mainstays like fried chicken and ribs are available, as are Asian classics like General Tso’s chicken and fried rice.
The Chen family owns and runs 15 buffets in Florida and Georgia, with plans to expand.
The Possibility Of More Florida Stores: Chow’s is developing another Jacksonville facility, followed by one in Orlando, according to The Times Union. Evan Chen, a managing member, allegedly told the publication:
“First, we’re going to have another location in Jacksonville, then one in Orlando, and one in Birmingham, Alabama. Once those are successful, we plan to have more across the Southeast.”
Price: Floridians interested in this buffet are likely to inquire about the price. Lunch is $11.49 throughout the week and $15.99 on weekends. On weekdays and weekends, dinner is $15.99. Military and elderly citizens receive a $1 discount.
Are Floridians Enjoying Chow’s Buffet? Chow’s receives 3.8 out of 5 stars from Google reviews. Many people praised the food’s variety and quality, particularly the fish. Ramona, a reviewer, wrote:
“We were very pleased with the quality of (the) food. Everything we tried was delicious. Everyone at our table tried a lot on the menu. They had orange chicken, chicken, and beef with Broccoli, seafood boil, butter shrimp, and other Chinese dishes. But it also had fried chicken, steak, and lots of cold salads. Everything we had was delicious…”
