JANESVILLE, Wis. – A Man, age 39, was taken into jail by the authorities in Wisconsin following an investigation that lasted for four months. The inquiry was prompted by a search request that allegedly uncovered multiple electronic devices that included child pornography.
At approximately 5:30 in the morning on Thursday, the Special Weapons and Tactics Team of the Janesville Police Department executed a search warrant on the 200 block of Rockport Road.
Before the search warrant was issued, the detective bureau stated that they had been conducting an investigation into this occurrence for approximately four months.
During the search for electronic devices within the property, K9 Handler Detective Winiarski utilized K9 Maui, a canine trained to detect electronic storage, to aid in the search.
During the search warrant, various electronic devices were retrieved from the property, which ultimately led to the arrest of Brett Cochran, who is 39 years old.
After being charged with five charges of having child pornography, Cochran was taken into custody and taken to the Rock County Jail. It is presently awaiting that he will make his initial court appearance.
The investigation into this occurrence is still ongoing, and no further information has been supplied at this time.
