Strong storms and heavy rain are still affecting the Wiregrass, and it is possible that further storms could arrive over the next few hours.
At the moment, activity is on the SW Parts of Houston, and Dale counties are being incorporated into Georgia. Rain and storms, some of which might be severe, are possible until midnight.
As a result of outflow from storms to our east, instability, and a disturbance in the atmosphere, the likelihood of rainfall will be higher than what was earlier predicted. We are going to keep following up.
The likelihood of precipitation is expected to continue to rise during the rest of the week. While a frontal boundary is stalling to our north, moisture will continue to advect in from the south towards us. At the surface, there will also be a significant amount of moisture.
By Thursday and Friday, the front will be getting closer to our region, which will enhance the likelihood of heavy rain. Flooding that is both isolated and minor is a possibility.
Throughout the weekend, there is a continuing likelihood of precipitation.
We will observe a modest decrease in temperatures, which is the other major tale that will be told. The near-triple-digit heat that we have been experiencing should be alleviated as the precipitation chances continue to rise and as further rain is added to our forecast.
While high temperatures will drop to the low 90s throughout the weekend, low temperatures will continue to hover around the 70s.
