A man from New York was charged with arson after he was found to have given fireworks to a youngster who was 11 years old, which resulted in the burning of a shed as well as two residences on Independence Day.
Karamjit Singh, 33, allegedly instructed the child to launch the fireworks on Thursday morning outside of his home in Levittown. However, the pyrotechnics failed to perform properly, causing a shed to catch fire. This information was provided by the Nassau County Police Department on Long Island.
After that, the fire spread to Singh’s house as well as a neighboring property in the suburban community, inflicting a significant amount of disruption and destruction.
Photographs taken by the local media showed strong smoke rising from the fire, and the side of one of the houses had been completely consumed by the flames, exposing the wooden studs that were underneath. Scattered over the yard was debris that had been charred.
There was no report of any injuries. Singh was taken into custody without any complications, and the youngster was handed over to a member of the family, according to ABCNEWS.
According to the documents filed with the court, Singh is being represented by the legal assistance office of Nassau County. On the previous Sunday, a notice asking for feedback was left there. Some allegations have been brought against Singh, including those of reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a child, and arson.
