On the Fourth of July, a young man from Colorado was partying with his friends when he made the tragic decision to jump into an electric lake.
Jesse Hamric, who was 18 years old at the time, jumped into the water at Smith Mountain Lake, which is located off the coast of Roanoke, Virginia, early on Thursday morning. Immediately after his dive, his buddies recognized that something was amiss.
Following in the footsteps of Hamric, the pals dove into the water and immediately felt a strong sensation of shock. They were able to extract Hamric out of the situation, according to WDBJ, even though they were injured.

A friend started cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on Hamric as another acquaintance called for assistance. When rescue crews arrived at approximately four in the morning, they took Hamric to a hospital, where he ultimately passed away. There were some minor injuries sustained by his two pals.
A stray voltage that was spreading from a dock at a neighboring private property was discovered to be the cause of the electrical currents that were found in the water during an investigation that was conducted by fire crews.
In the death, there is no suspicion of any kind of foul play.

The unexpected catastrophe occurred while Hamric, who was born and raised in Steamboat Springs, was traveling with his family to pay a visit to some acquaintances. The month of May had just passed, and he had just graduated from high school, where he had succeeded on both the quarterback and baseball teams.
To quote a friend, Alex Schwab, who spoke to NYPOST, “Ever since I first met that kid, I mean, he’s like one of a kind.” When you look at him, you can’t help but notice that he always has a charming smile on his face.
To this day, I am unable to even begin to process it. He continued by saying, “I am so upset by it.”
