EAST ORANGE, New Jersey – Four people, including a mother and two young children, were taken to the hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries in an apartment located in East Orange.
Around 1:30 in the morning on Thursday, the victims were assaulted inside an apartment located on the second floor of the La Ferrera Apartments, which are located on Park Avenue.
At the University Hospital in Newark, all three individuals were transported with what appeared to be stab wounds.
According to members of the community who spoke with Eyewitness News, the victims include a woman and her two young children, ages one and three. Additionally, one of the children had just celebrated their birthday this week.
“I am in complete and utter shock… and my heart is breaking right now,” said one of the residents. “I am extremely disappointed.” It’s hard for me to believe. How did we get to this point? Does a mother have two children? It is beyond my comprehension what could motivate someone to act in such a manner.

We have been informed that the mother is currently in her twenties and has spent her entire life in this particular building.
The neighbors stated that they had just seen her on Wednesday with her children and that after the birthday celebration, everyone was in a joyous mood as per abc7ny.
Another person stated, “I’ve been involved for twenty years and nothing like that has ever happened,” and they were correct. In no way. I have never witnessed anything quite like this before.
Regarding the possible circumstances that led to the stabbing, there has been no comment.
East Orange Police are currently investigating the event.
