A Guy from Lee County is in jail on child pornography charges after someone gave the police information online.
In December of 2023, investigators from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a cyber tip from the Alabama Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce. The tip was about a person in Lee County downloading child sexual abuse material. This was the beginning of the investigation.
A guy named Mason Chadwick Morgan, who is 46 years old and hails from Opelika, Alabama, was able to be identified by the investigators.

Following the execution of a search warrant on July 2, 2024, Morgan was charged with three counts of Possession of Child Pornography. The search warrant was carried out at Morgan’s residence, which was located in the 14000 Block of Alabama Highway 51 area. Morgan was found to have additional child sexual abuse material, according to the findings of further research. Morgan was taken into custody the following day, on July 3, 2024, and the charges against him included eight counts of possessing child pornography. The bond for him is set at $80,000.00, and he is currently being held at the Lee County Detention Center.
