A 19-year-old man was taken into custody by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on the west side of Indianapolis earlier this month.
At around one minute past one in the morning on Saturday, June 8, the shooting was claimed to have taken place at the Maple Creek Apartments, which are located in the 3800 block of West Michigan Street, close to Holt Road.
Kiyon James William Davidson, age 21, was found on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound by the cops who responded to the incident. Davidson was eventually recognized as the victim. It was determined that he had passed away at the site.
Before the shooting, there was a disturbance in the parking lot of the apartments, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD). This incident involved numerous people and took place in the parking lot.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) provided an update on June 21st, stating that murder detectives had identified a person of interest and tracked him to a residence in Gary, Indiana, a few days after the shooting. Gary was the location where the suspect was taken into custody without any incident occurring on June 13 as per WTHR
According to the police, they have not disclosed the specific charge(s) that the suspect may be facing.
