A 91-year-old serial flasher has been accused of exposing himself to three adolescent girls while following them through a Muncie Target.
Edward C. Uhles of Indianapolis was charged in Delaware County Circuit Court this week with one count of public indecency and one count of displaying matters detrimental to kids, both Level 6 felonies. Uhles appears to have a long history of flashing girls in public, according to a lengthy arrest record spanning many counties. Uhles has been charged with public indecency, public exposure, and public nudity in Hendricks, Hamilton, Monroe, Bartholomew, and Morgan counties, in addition to his Delaware County offenses.
According to court records, Uhles’ proclivity for flashing dates back at least to 2010. According to records from the Indiana Department of Correction, Uhles has served many prison sentences for public obscenity.
Uhles’ most recent allegations arise from an incident on November 9, 2023, in which he is accused of following three young victims through a Target department store in Muncie.

The young girls claimed Uhles exhibited his erect sexual organ to them before leaving the store and driving away. According to court filings, the girls filmed Uhles on their phones.
After the event was reported, a Target employee investigated the complaint and compared it to a similar report made at a Target shop in Carmel. In one case, a man called Edward Uhles was apprehended. Court documents obtained from Hamilton County show that Uhles flashed girls at more than just the Carmel Target, though.
On July 21, 2023, Uhles approached two adult women at a Hobby Lobby in Carmel, his erection protruding from his pants. The women recorded videos of the man to show the police.
In the Carmel Target incident on July 29, 2023, Uhles approached a 14-year-old girl in the bra area and exposed himself via his unbuttoned pants.
Following these occurrences, Westfield police followed Uhles to another Target store, this time in Westfield. Police waited until Uhles entered the store and caught him in the act.

Police said Uhles was seen hanging out in a clothing section where several young females were looking. Police officials watching security tape noticed Uhles unzipping his pants, prompting them to step in.
But when officers apprehended Uhles, they discovered an unusual twist.
The genital organ poking out of Uhles’ pants was not real. The artificial penis was constructed of foam or synthetic flesh, according to police reports. Police stated that the then-90-year-old man admitted to having a sex addiction and stopped attending courses to address it. Uhles allegedly reportedly admitted to authorities that he used the artificial penis “for the rush” and that it “makes him feel young.”
Uhles told authorities he aimed to choose “prettier girls” aged 18 to 22. He claimed to have chosen Hobby Lobby and Target on the north side, alleging that the girls were prettier than those on the south side and wore “tighter shorts that are smaller.”
Uhles said he was ignorant that many of his victims were 14 or younger.
Despite being arrested last summer, Uhles pursued his “rush” by exposing himself in Muncie. He also faces a more recent charge related to a Bartholomew County public exposure.
Uhles is now being incarcerated at Delaware County Jail.
