NORMAN, Okla. – A 58-year-old man was arrested earlier this week in Norman after allegedly tying up a lady during an abduction and forcing her to withdraw money from her bank account.

On Tuesday, a 75-year-old lady reported to police that a 58-year-old male forced his way into her home, bound her wrists and ankles, and tied her to a chair. According to police, the suspect then attempted to take funds from the victim’s bank account using her vehicle.

The effort failed, so police claimed the guy unbound the woman and forced her to accompany him to the bank to withdraw funds. Norman police said the woman had previously hired the suspect to conduct many renovations at her house.

Officers from the Norman Police Department’s Special Investigations Section nabbed the suspect without incident on Thursday. He was detained at the Cleveland County Detention Center on charges of abduction, first-degree burglary, and robbery.

KOCO 5 has not revealed the suspect’s identity since official charges have not been filed.
