A 5-year-old kid died and another child was injured when a bouncy house they were in became airborne during a baseball game in Maryland on Friday night, according to authorities.
According to a news release from Charles County officials, the bouncy house flew onto the playing field at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf during a baseball game for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
Some children were inside the bouncy house when a burst of wind blew it “approximately 15 to 20 feet up in the air,” according to Charles County officials. According to the news release, the children inside the bounce house collapsed before it landed on the field.
Authorities reported that on-site medical responders treated the children quickly, with assistance from baseball club trainers and game attendees.
