After a horrific crash in Aurora, a 4-year-old girl had to be flown to a hospital. The driver of the automobile she was in is now facing criminal charges after authorities determined that he was at fault and that the girl was not in a car seat.
The collision occurred Saturday shortly after 3 p.m. on East Smoky Hill Road and East Pheasant Run Parkway.
According to crash investigators, the driver of the automobile carrying the 4-year-old, a 29-year-old Aurora male, made a left turn into the intersection when it was broadsided by an approaching vehicle.
The car was struck near the rear passenger door, where the girl was seated. She suffered life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Investigators believe that neither alcohol nor speed contributed to the accident.
