27-year-old’s Death in Nashville Township Sparks Charges Against Three Crandon Locals

Forest County – Three persons were accused on Wednesday of their involvement in a fatal overdose in Forest County last year.

Steven Tuckwab, 65; Dakota Tuckwab, 33; and Sheena Tuckwab, 40, were all charged with first-degree reckless homicide in the April 2023 overdose death. All three are from Crandon.

The Forest County Sheriff’s Office was summoned to Daisy Lane in Nashville Township to investigate a probable drug overdose. When deputies arrived, the 27-year-old male was declared dead.

The case was turned over to the Forest County Drug Task Force, and an investigation began.

A few months later, in August 2023, a joint agency drug overdose suppression and investigation program began in Forest County. Among the agencies engaged were the Wisconsin National Guard’s Counter Drug Program, the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigations, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

They began identifying drug overdose cases and drug overdose deaths to further investigate with the focused analytical assistance and guidance of the Wisconsin National Guard Counter Drug Program.

They began identifying drug overdose incidents and deaths for further investigation, with the Wisconsin National Guard Counter Drug Program providing specialized analytical help and advice.

The first instance selected was an overdose fatality in Nashville Township in April 2023. A thorough investigation comprised multiple search warrants and subpoenas, over 1,000 hours of studying video footage and phone calls, forensic analysis of multiple electronic devices, several interviews, and surveillance.

Following the inquiry, the information was given to the Forest County District Attorney’s Office, and criminal complaints were filed on Wednesday.
