21-YEAR-OLD CHARGED With Capital Murder After FATAL SHOOTING OF 90-YEAR-OLD AT SENIOR Living Community

Kyliel Denzel Arceneaux, 21, was arrested on various charges, including capital murder, following a fatal shooting at a senior living community.

According to an official press release, the fatal occurrence occurred at 10680 Westbrae Parkway last Saturday afternoon, about 12:45 p.m. Nelson Beckett, 90, died.

According to the Houston Police Department, the suspect, now identified as Arceneaux, allegedly assaulted Mr. Beckett before shooting him and stealing his belongings and vehicle; the vehicle, which was used to strike Beckett as the assailant fled the scene, was later discovered at an apartment complex in the 12500 block of Dunlap Street.

According to the official release, vigorous investigative efforts led by HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Roberts and Detective J. Wallschlaeger, in collaboration with the South Gessner Patrol Division’s Crime Suppression Team, HPD Gang Division, and Texas Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Intelligence Division, resulted in Arceneaux’s arrest yesterday.

Arceneaux has since been charged with capital murder, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and tampering with evidence, and is currently awaiting trial in the 487th State District Court.
