Williams Sentenced for String of Drug Store Armed Robberies in Several Counties

A 28 year old from Rome, Georgia – has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for a string of drug store armed robberies… including stores in Catoosa and Chattooga Counties.
Anthony Lavell Williams, Jr., was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 12 years, seven months in prison… to be followed by five years of supervised release.  He was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of nearly $193-thousand dollars after pleading guilty to five counts of interference with commerce by robbery and armed robbery involving controlled substances.
Williams pleaded guilty to assaulting pharmacy customers and forcing employees to surrender cash and tens of thousands of opioids and amphetamines at gunpoint.  The local area robberies occurred in 2020.
