At Least 20 Die Over Thanksgiving Holiday Travel According to GDPS

The Georgia Department of Public Safety says that at least 20 people died in wrecks on the state’s highways during the Thanksgiving holiday travel period.

Final numbers are due out later.

One of those deadly wrecks was investigated by Floyd County Police on Saturday.

That two-vehicle crash occurred just before 1 pm on Highway 101 at Pleasant Valley Road and claimed the life of 50-year old Scott Anthony Garner of Silver Creek.

Two people in the other vehicle were injured and transported to the hospital.
