Jeffery Jamar Davis, 36, and Dontavius Demond Darden, 34, both of Rockmart, were arrested this week on drug and weapon charges during a traffic stop on Goodyear Avenue.
Reports said that officers stopped the vehicle being driven by Davis due to him having active warrants for his arrest. Officers stated that he recognized Davis for being wanted in Bartow County for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and reckless conduct.
Officers stated that while conducting the stop they detected a marijuana odor coming from the vehicle.
A search then resulted in the officers finding suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, a 9mm Hi-Point handgun, and a digital scale.
They were both charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth with intent, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or first offender, possession of firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, and misdemeanors for possession and use of drug-related objects and possession of marijuana.
