The Chattanooga Times Free Press will cease printing a daily newspaper in the middle of next year, converting subscribers to a mostly digital format.
The newspaper publisher has bought thousands of Apple iPads to give to subscribers. Only the Sunday edition will continue to be printed and delivered on paper.
The publisher said that digital conversion is necessary for the newspaper to remain profitable and continue to serve the Chattanooga area. iPad training sessions will be offered… and subscribers will be converted in phases and notified in advance when their conversion phase is coming up.
