Twenty-nine-year-old Andy Espinosa was sentenced in Chattooga County Superior Court this week after he pled guilty to murdering Chattooga High School student Zach Majia in December of last year.
Espinosa entered a guilty plea in court on Wednesday and Judge Kristina Cook Graham sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Espinosa stabbed Majia at a residence on Williams Street in Lyerly where he was living with Majia’s mother. When EMS arrived on the scene, they found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest. Espinosa was taken into custody a short time later by Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Maija was transported to the hospital but later succumbed to the injuries.
