As of yesterday, several people have applied for the open seat on the Chattooga Board of Education. The seat was vacated in May by Dr. Julia Houston who resigned abruptly from the board of education.
Chattooga County School Supt. Jared Hosmer has announced that six people have applied and meet the qualifications to be considered for appointment. They are:
There is still time to apply for the position, according to Supt. Hosmer. Interested applicants should submit their information to the superintendent by this Friday, July 9th.
Those who have qualified for the position will have a chance to address the Board of Education at a meeting to be held next Thursday in the board of education’s work session.
The board is expected to make a decision on the replacement board member in August.
