Nursing Home Owner Charged With Cruelty to Elderly

The owner of a nursing home in Trenton was charged with cruelty to the elderly, after sheriff’s deputies found residents living 100 degree heat this week.
They were called to the Woodhaven Senior Living nursing home and found only one staff member on duty… as several members of the nursing home staff had quit.  Officers arrested the owner of the home, 55-year-old Kent Allen Womack.
They had been notified by a family member that residents were being evicted and had one hour to pack up their belongings.  When deputies arrived, they found the air conditioner had not worked for two years, except in the area of the building where Womack’s office was located.  The Georgia Bureau of Investigation will assist… and more charges against the owner are pending.
