A twenty-seven-year-old Summerville man was arrested after driving through a stop sign and then running from deputies.
According to a report released on Tuesday, a deputy observed Benjamin Mobbs pull out in front of a vehicle on Oak Hill Road and then run a stop sign near the Lyerly Dam. The deputy activated his blue lights, but Mobbs didn’t stop until he reached a residence at which point he jumped out of his vehicle and ran into the house.
The deputy spoke with a woman at the residence who gave permission for the deputy to come inside and search for Mobbs. The deputy found Mr. Mobbs in the shower and placed him under arrest.
Mobbs told the deputy that he knew the vehicle he was driving was not registered properly and admitted that it was “stupid” to try to run from the deputy.
